What is LifeLeft?

LifeLeft is a free life progress bar calculator. Enter your date of birth and instantly see what percentage of your life has passed, how many weeks you have lived, and how many remain — based on your country's average life expectancy or a custom lifespan you set.

How many weeks do I have left to live?

The average human life is approximately 4,000 weeks. If you are 30 years old, you have lived roughly 1,560 weeks and have about 2,600 weeks remaining. LifeLeft calculates your exact number based on your birth date and shows it as a visual grid — one square per week.

What is a life-in-weeks grid?

Popularised by Tim Urban's "Wait But Why" blog, the life-in-weeks grid shows your entire lifespan as a grid of small squares. Each square represents one week. Squares you have lived are filled; the rest are empty. Seeing most of your grid filled in is a powerful, visceral reminder to use your remaining time well.

How does the health adjustment work?

LifeLeft lets you adjust your expected lifespan based on lifestyle factors including smoking, exercise, diet, sleep quality, stress levels, and alcohol consumption. Each factor adds or removes years from your base lifespan, giving you a personalised estimate.

Is LifeLeft free?

Yes. LifeLeft is completely free. No sign-up required, no login, no ads, no data stored. Enter your birth date and get your results instantly.

What famous people were born the same year as me?

LifeLeft's "Age Twin" feature finds famous people born in the same year as you and shows their life running in parallel to yours. It also shows what famous people achieved at your exact age — from Einstein publishing relativity at 26 to J.K. Rowling publishing Harry Potter at 32.
